Professor Dr. Zaharuddin Abd Rahman
Adjunct Professor Dr. Zaharuddin Abd Rahman has done tremendous achievement in the Shariah compliance and halal arena. He has extensive 22 years of contribution to world of Shariah Compliance and halal related industries covering a direct contribution in local stage of banking and Takaful institutions, corporate companies, higher education i.e universities and colleges, food and beverages, cosmetics, educational technologies, telcos, Malaysian government and Government link companies, Malaysian regulators i.e BNM and Securities Commission of Malaysia. His expertise in Shariah compliance and halal also has contributed to an International stage such as Singapore, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Trinidad Tobago, United Kingdom and USA.
He is currently a Founding Managing Director of Elzar Group of companies, Elzar Shariah Solutions Sdn Bhd, Myclass Technologies Sdn Bhd, Aaalim Aulad Islamic Pre School, Mydental care Shah Alam, Urban Mobility Asia and a Solar PV company, Suria and Sonne Sdn Bhd. He is also serving as Adjunct Professor at Faculty of Business and Accountancy of University of Selangor (UNISEL) and previously at the University of Sultan Zainal Abidin (UNISZA)

Dr. Zaharuddin served as an Asst. Professor at the Kulliyyah of Economics, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) for more than 10 years. He obtained his degree from University of Malaya, MA in Shariah from Al-Yarmouk University, Jordan and PhD in Islamic Studies and Finance from University of Wales specializing in Islamic Derivatives and Maqasid al-Shariah. He is also a certified Islamic Finance trainer and lecturer by The Markfield Institute of Higher Education, United Kingdom. His has served RHB Islamic Bank Ltd, Malaysia as a Senior Shariah Manager & Product Development and later, joining Asian Finance Bank Ltd as Head (Vice President) of the Shariah Compliance.
To-date, he has written over 23 books and hundreds of articles on Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Banking and other Shariah matters in journal, including local and international magazines and conferences. He frequently appears in the local television TV1, TV Hijrah, TV3, TV9, Bernama TV and Unifi TV and radio lecturing on bernama radio, IkimFm, radio klasik, RTM Perlis on various Shariah issues especially with regards to the Islamic commercial transaction.
